Whats in a name? A lot. We have always taken great pride in naming our children. What a neat thing it is; we put a lot of time, effort, care and emotion into it.
Some of you might want an explanation.
Rockwell: As in Porter Rockwell, and Normal Rockwell, also taken from the 1965 baby book my parents used to help name me. Its a strong name...something that was important for us to give him. Paul said too, he just couldn't shake the name, and felt it was meant to be his. Paul and I also had an agreement before we had children, that if they were girls, I would have the last say in the name...and if a boy...respectively.
Elias: Most of you know this child was not an afterthought, it was not a whim, it was a very sweet and clear understanding between us and our Heavenly Father. Elias is the greek word for Elijah. It also means "the Lord is my God"......which is the whole reason why our Rockwell is here.
Dickinson: Well, now we can't get away from that, now can we ;-) However, in tribute to my father, who loved me with every ounce of his soul....his name was Joseph. However, people called him Red. Rockwell Elias Dickinson....is a tribute to him. He never had a son of his own, however, I have no doubt my father was beside my child not long ago, loving him and caring for him on the other side.
So from heartfelt tears and gratitude, I would like to introduce our sweet Rockwell Elias Dickinson. He has great plans in this life, and we are incredibly blessed to share it with him. Welcome to our family son; glad to have you with us again.
